What is Boutique School Photography?
My goal is to create a unique, custom experience for the schools who have entrusted me with their students’ portraits and the families who attend them. This service is professional, but with a more personal touch. Unlike the big, corporate photography companies, I specialize in smaller schools, giving me the opportunity to capture more authentic portraits.
I don’t come in with a cheesy, overly colorful backdrop and lights that will blind the children for the rest of the day. I’m not going to focus more on the placement of their feet on the floor and stack their hands on some box, and then immediately jump to the next kid without glancing at the photos I’ve taken.
The goal of these photos is to capture the authentic child on that day. No awkward poses or forced smiles. Just genuine, timeless portraits that highlight their personality and phase of life in a way they won’t cringe to look back on in two years. I provide a fun and lighthearted experience for your children where they can relax and be themselves.
What Services Do You Offer?
I not only offer a relaxing and personalized experience while photographing the children, but also for families afterward. All ordering is completed online, using a safe but convenient delivery software.
Families are linked to a password-protected online gallery. Galleries are set up according to grade, homeroom, advisory, or whatever grouping makes sense for the school. Each child will be provided 2-5 images, presented in both color and black and white. The family may then choose the photos they want to print or download, rather than having the pose chosen for them by a company.
Families can choose between traditional school photo prints (such as packages of wallets, 5x7 or 8x10 pictures, etc…) as well as more boutique options such as canvas gallery wraps and digital images for future printing and archiving. A detailed PDF describing all ordering procedures and picture day preparation will be provided to each school to be distributed to families prior to photo day.
Prints are ordered online and delivered directly to the school.
I provide all equipment needed for photo day.
I provide the school with all high resolution digital files to use for yearbooks, website, school advertising, school ID’s, or however the school wishes to use the images.
I handle all questions from parents and families about ordering and products.
I take staff photos and provide a complimentary print package for staff members as well.
I am willing to work with schools to provide custom services that fit your unique needs. As a teacher myself, I understand better than most how each building has its own personality, and I am happy to work alongside other educators and administrators to ensure that the unique needs of your school community are being met.
Are These Images Expensive?
I have competitive rates and nothing is due up front, all profit is made from ordering. I offer a variety of collections and a-la-carte products to fit everyone’s needs. I also donate 10% of the total sales back to the schools that I photograph!
What Time of Year Do You Conduct These Fine Art School Photo Shoots?
I work with each individual school to schedule shoots any time during the academic year. I also am available during the summer to daycare/learning centers who want to offer the opportunity for sibling photos to families whose children’s ages encompass a wider range and may not be all together during the school year.
